AroMa is a prolific performer from Oakland, CA, driven by a profound desire to be a catalyst of self expression with music exploring the extremity of human emotion. Being a part of this lineage of the performer— inspired by the likes of Nina Simone, Grace Jones, Screamin J Hawkins and many more— they seek to honor the torch they carried, stoking the flames of an emboldened humanness and liberation.

It also means being familiar with feelings of loss, grief and the blessing of a strong community - caught in the tension between scarcity and innovation. AroMa’s music transcends category, inviting listeners into a unique soundscape: blending alternative rock, new wave, soul, funk and hip-hop. The themes of their work range from the never overstated experience of love and heartbreak, struggles with depression, death and grief, queerness and a desire to feel connected.

Aroma’s new ep ‘smitten’ released on 03/13/26. this body of work comes four years after AroMa’s debut EP project ‘Symphony No Harmony’ (SNH) in 2022. their music continues to grace many stages. they are currently working on their first full length album project set to come out later this year.
